Mother’s Day can be traced back to ancient Greece where this holiday was held in honor of Rhea, the Mother of the Gods. Over centuries, as Christianity spread throughout Europe, the celebration came to honor “Mother Church”, the spirit power that gave them life and protected them from harm. As time passed, the festival was combined with the Mothering Sunday celebration to recognize both mother's and the church. In 1907, the first Mother’s Day was celebrated in the United States, and by 1914 it had become an official holiday to be held annually on the second Sunday of May.
Mother’s Day may only fall on one spring day a year, but her celebration should be timeless. Her endless devotion and love deserves to be rewarded with a special gift for her to deeply adore and treasure. The unique gift of diamond jewelry will show her how special she is in a way that words cannot possibly say.
